South Coast, UK based Alt rock band Rogue Awakening release their second single ‘Overshadowed’ this month. The band, fronted by the enigmatic Kimberley Voice, are excited to share this much heavier version of themselves with the world. ‘Overshadowed is about the contradiction between the confident person you present to the world versus the saboteur in your mind.’, says the band, ‘It’s ultimately about an unhealthy relationship with yourself and how that impacts on those around you. It also touches on the trials of being an over thinker and how that can affect your headspace.’ ‘Overshadowed’ is slated for release on 23rd September. The band play Music In The City Festival in Southampton on September 24th with more shows to be announced over the coming weeks.
Animal Souls is an indie music collective based in Abbotsford, BC. The group is headed by bassist/producer Michael Fisher and features some of the best players in the Fraser Valley.Originally from Burlington, Ontario. Michael has called British Columbia home since 1983 and over the years he has played in many cover & original bands, managed and promoted artists and provided live sound services at local clubs and festivals. When the Covid pandemic hit and Michael was ‘retired’ from a 27 year career at Live Nation, he called on some of his musical mates to help him record a 10-track album ‘Wisdom of Crowds’ which was released in August 2021. The album was a mix of old songs re-imagined from a late 80’s stash of 4-track demos along with some newly written songs. Animal Souls have since released 3 singles; ‘Lessons of Love’ (Jan 2022), ‘Soul Dance Redux’ (May 2022) and ‘Travelin’ Bug’ (Jul 2022). Up next is a co-write with Annika Catharina called ‘Midnight Sky’ releasing on Sep 2.Michael also plays bass in the alternative rock band 3rd Deck, also based in Abbotsford, having just released their debut self-titled 5-song EP.
Kalila Shields has been a Singer-Songwriter since 2019 and is based in the West Midlands, UK. She has been gaining recognition for her songwriting in various competitions. Her biggest achievement to date is being named the RnB Winner in the UK Songwriting Contest 2020 for her song “A Man Like You”. Her previous single, “Now That I Left” was Akademia Music Awards July 2022 Winner for Best Pop Song! As well as writing for herself, Kalila would love to collaborate with other artists, lyrically and/ or vocally. Her mission is to share her messages of true love, healing, and empowerment for oneself and in union through the airwaves. There is no such thing as perfection but love heals all and it is that journey that she promotes. Being more of a natural introvert, she is easing out of her comfort zone to build her audience and make her musical mark on the world.

With the goal to unite using music, the quartet centralizes upon the notion that melodies have the power to make us feel like we are not alone in this world. Culturally relevant lyricism coupled with catchy yet passionate rhetoric, 19 Miles Per Hour hope to bring further awareness to conversations surrounding mental health. Mikey wrote ‘CONTRADICTIONS’ one day after he was inspired by the lead piano riff. He felt like he needed to write this song about the crazy world we live in and how we all say we want the world to change, but yet we don’t prove it with actions. “‘CONTRADICTIONS’ is our cry for help. It’s our cry for love and togetherness. Inspired by the likes of My Chemical Romance, Unrest Over Affinity is an Alt Rock trio from West Yorkshire England, formed in September 2021 by Apollo Anders on Bass and Vocals, Ash Hudson on Guitar, and Toby Walker on Drums. Between the three, the band records and produces their own music in their home and studio space they can get. As of August 2022, the three are working on the final touches on their follow up to Apprehension, as well as plenty of new songs and big plans for next year.

BÖNE is a Heavy Metal/Thrash Metal band from Austin TX that was conceived in 2017 by former Powderburn guitar player Eric Anthony and former Cerbral Desecration Bassist Ethan Wissmann. Being only mediocrely talented, they needed the likes of some other fools that would be willing to fill in the slots of drums and vocals. Insert former Fear Control drummer Stan Petraitis, his heavy hitting drums would help pound all listeners into submission. Vocals would be taken by former Trauma Concept guitarist and vocalist John Jones, the ginger with an appetite for buttholes and sauerkraut. Realizing they weren’t getting enough chicks, they found local music teacher Derek Halfmann, formerly of Superheavygoatass, wondering the halls of a local music school and soon employed him to shred those sweet bendy solos. Together, they formed an ok band who’s main goal is to make your taint feel funny and make your girlfriend run in fear. Together, they are BÖNE.
