Annie Foxx is an alter-ego project started by Anna Volpe in 2021. She is unapologetic about bringing the alternative edge to pop music. Her honest, sometimes dark, lyrics are inspired by her experiences with depression and anxiety. By shedding light on her own mental health experiences, she hopes to inspire others to do the same and to always know that they are never alone. Blood Runs Cold is Annie’s debut single that was released last May. My website is for all of my artist projects including Annie Foxx: https://www.annavolpe.com/Annie Foxx

Virginia-born and Carolina raised, Randall Fowler’s roots run deep in Country Music. His soulful voice, though, is sure to grab the attention of fans from all genres. The Charleston City Paper agrees as well with his fans and voted him the “Best Male Vocalist” in 2020. Randall Fowler experienced the excitement of performing on stage at the age of 3 years old while attending his very first concert and was pulled up on stage by the country music icon Ricky Skaggs who watched in amazement as Randall sang every word to Ricky’s “Honey (Open That Door)”. That was the first experience that would set in motion the journey of this powerhouse vocalist. At ten years of age, Randall and his family moved to Goose Creek, SC. After graduating high school, Fowler joined an alternative rock cover band that toured for ten years up and down the Southeast coastline. Because of Randall’s crowd capturing soulful country vocals, the group started adding classic R&B and country songs to their setlist. Continuing to perform as a solo artist, Randall has recently opened shows up for Tracy Lawrence, Mitchell Tenpenny, Walker Hayes, Chris Lane, Scotty McCreery, Priscilla Block, and Muscadine Bloodline. The response from new fans has lit a fire in Fowler to release new music every 4 to 8 weeks of this year! First up, a powerhouse cover of the Allman Brothers Classic “Midnight Rider” available on all streaming platforms no! Next up is an original cut “Someone Who Does”.
Three years ago, Indecisive released their debut single. Then the inevitable happened (uni, life, covid) and plans were put on hold. It’s been a whirlwind to get here, but now they’re finally ready to share more of their sound with the world – and there’s no better track to do it with than something refreshingly energetic and an undeniable earworm. Combining numerous influences together – anything from Radiohead to the video gameTransistor – Indecisive have formed a unique style that brings all of their individual interests into one body of work. ‘The Motions’ has the typical facade of an upbeat and joyous song but the lyrics tell an opposing story of being stuck in a rut, treating others around you with disdain and not being able to stop. It’s a tale too many of us have experienced and perfectly sums up what living through lockdown after lockdown felt like. On the inspiration behind the track, lead singer Drew explains, “I was thinking about the cycles when it came to my relationships: the return to a certain moment, repeating similar mistakes, the inability to find happiness within that – there’s a term for it, ‘the hedonic treadmill’”. The track was mixed by James Grant (Baby Dave, Sterling Press, False Heads) and mastered by Conor Kearney (Home Counties).
Matthew Torres writes emotionally moving and intimate music that ranges from folk to wistful pop to modern indie and captivates audiences into a journey of reflection, exploring our relationship with others and our relationship with ourselves. Matthew Torres returns at the end of May with a brand new single ‘Could Have Told You That’. The anthemic indie offering gives an edge to melodic storytelling, channeling a similar energy to fellow Californian musicians Weezer. Matthew Torres gives us insight into the meaning behind the track: “This is an anthem for the dating app era. Or at least it’s an anthem for my experience – wanting romantic connection but also feeling like there is so much of me I’m still figuring out. I think a lot of people feel the same way and so we all get it. But it’s also still frustrating and painful trying to connect to someone who is at a different place in working things out for themself.” The release of ‘Could Have Told You That’ follows on from his 2021 release ‘Ills Descent’, which has already accumulated over 150,000 streams on Spotify.

The origins of Freshwater West go back to the mid-1990s when Dave and Paul formed the deeply funky acid jazz combo Blue Train. They went on to have many releases on Phat Jam and 2Kool, often with Natalia as vocalist and with jazz trumpet maestro Steve Waterman as featured guest artists. By the time their Masters At Work released single Get Movin’ hit the US dance charts in 1997 Natalia had become a fulltime band member. Since then Dave has branched out into the plastic arts, exhibiting his pop paintings in London. The way he approaches art influences his songwriting and performing style, always bringing an edge and freshness to the mix while absorbing from the culture around him. Dave is a real foodie, a discerning moviegoer and general culture vulture. His mighty, elastic bass riffs power the band along from underneath whilst his guitar lines add a distinctive jazzy flavour. Ever-curious and endlessly eclectic, evolutionary Paul is somewhat of a techno legend in his own right. His solo releases Test Pattern and Go on Dave Angel’s Rotation imprint were huge underground hits, and he has had many releases on labels such as Rising High, Inspiral, and Bamboo Radical. He has exhibited his films widely in the UK and Japan, produced music for commercial film and TV, was a founding member of the Swansea Laptop Orchestra, and runs an independent record label. When he’s not remixing or producing, Paul teaches music technology and can often be found walking the hills of Wales, his current home.Natalia was born into a Spanglish family of artists and musicians (she is the granddaughter of poet Robert Graves and daughter of jazz legend Ramón Farrán, the composer who took bebop to Spain and has played drums with many of the greats) and studied Spanish literature, drama and singing in London. She has made a career out of music and words – as a session singer, lyricist, voiceover artist, translator, and interpreter for Spanish record labels, working with the same ease with obscure jazz musos as with international pop stars. Lead singer of the Spanish National Jazz Orchestra (the ONJAZZ) for almost two decades, her extraordinary versatility has taken her from doing backing vocals with huge Spanish punk-rock bands to touring Latin America with the ONJAZZ, dubbing Ann-Margret’s singing voice into Spanish, adapting the lyrics of Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas into Spanish, or duetting with the likes of Randy Brecker, or Spain’s answer to Tom Jones, Miguel Ríos. She is currently based in London and continues to write, record, perform and collaborate with musicians around the world. This is a band to look out for – if you like your pop music peppered with dark reflections, some acid humour and an all-encompassing, multicultural view of postmodern society, Freshwater West is it. Genre-defying, fun, classic and new. We urge you to check them out!
Oliana is a singer songwriter based in Toronto. From French and Mexican parents, she grew up in Paris before moving to Toronto, two years ago. Building her music style with French music producer Tooti, the duo has created a unique universe, merging Tooti’s strong and melodious beats with Oliana’s powerful yet ethereal vocals. While releasing a few singles in the past year, Oliana and Tooti have been working on their first project which will see the light of day by spring 2022. The upcoming album consists of darker and meaningful songs, dealing with themes such as time, change, societal values, insecurity and love. ‘Waves’ is the first song of the project to have come out, setting the atmosphere for the album to come. ‘Jupiter’, the second song of the project, shows a softer and more intimate facet of the album. Finally, ‘Crave’ demonstrates Oliana’s poignant lyrics through an impressive vocal performance setting a final tone for the arrival of her first EP.
