Desoto Jones

Written during the pandemic, the band collaborated remotely sending demos back and forth. “Air” was composed individually through headphones at home rather than in a loud practice room, inspiring thoughtful lyrics looking at the passage of time and the values of the band.

Fourth Son South

South African Alternative Indie Pop Rockers Fourth Son South are back with a catchy new single ‘The Cold’. The track is the first with new member Sarah Gardiner and offers hope to those in need of some light. Peter Toussaint shares that “I wrote The Cold on the 21st of June, literally the darkest day in the Southern Hemisphere, yearning for the return of the light and warmer days. This also applies to a relationship that is at its lowest point. As always, there is hope, because the light will come again!”

JPeck

At 10, I started writing music to spite someone that told me I couldn’t. The music was trash, though it’s gotten a bit better. If I’m known for anything, it’s as the singer for the Philadelphia based band Bosco and Peck. We’ve released 5 albums and a pile of singles. Our music is played over a million times a year in the background of supermarkets throughout the world. But alas we remain the “Band so mysterious, you’ve never heard of them.”

I.M the artist

Introducing Gothenburg’s very own Isabél Murgelas, also known as I.M the artist. She is a 25-year-old alternative singer-songwriter and creative from Sweden, based in London. I.M the artist creates from the soul, and her audience adores her raw, personal, story-driven music. Her debut EP ‘Self- Made’ (2019) gained local recognition, racking up 30k streams. Succeeding her EP, she released ‘Bleeding Blue’ (2020), a song that colourfully describes the complicated dynamic of aging friendship and tested loyalty, followed by her 3-part extended single ‘Before You Go,’ an emotionally vulnerable project that takes the listener on a journey through loss and the stages of grief. It was partnered with her first official music video, which she executively produced. “I really feel that music has the ability to bridge a connection between us all. Art has the power to heal… it’s a beautiful thing.” Using symbolism and samples her single ‘Tokyo’ (2021), inspired by her love of film, was released alongside a self-directed & self-produced music video, further establishing her vision for the project. Her latest track ‘Sleepwalking’ brings a fresh and abstract take on the “strangers to friends to strangers” narrative. With her powerfully soulful vocals, intimate lyricism, ambient and experimental production, this alternative pop record stands apart from all others. I.M the artist has received great responses from her audience and press attention from publications such as Music Republic Magazine, BUZZMUSIC, Niji Magazine, About The Noise & Second Society Report. She’s also featured on Maritime Radio London, Voices Radio, Chicago’s A&O Radio and Radio Free Brooklyn. As a dedicated student of the craft that she’s influenced by, Isabél constantly strives to progress within her sound, authentically reflecting the transitional periods in her life, through her work. From a young age, she was exposed to music, film and dance, and these became cherished mediums that she’s used to express herself and navigate her youth. Determined to forge her own path, she moved to London in 2013 to attend Arts Educational Schools, graduating with 3 A-Levels in music, music technology and psychology and a diploma in acting. With her dedication and creative abilities, in 2018 I.M the artist landed herself at SAFO Music Group. As of 2021, I.M the artist records at The Inscape Studios, in Hackney Wick and is currently writing and recording for her next exciting project. Her latest single ‘Sleepwalking’ is out now and available to stream on ALL MAJOR STREAMING PLATFORMS.

Lost From the Start

Lost from the Start are an emorock/posthardcore band from Limburg/Belgium. Through their music they address heavy emotional and social topics. ‘As 30-something people we find ourselves in a different stage in life. We all have jobs and responsibilities. We also have a different, more realistic, look on the future. Things don’t always work out the way we want, that’s just life … These everyday issues are processed in our music. We hope to reach and support others who feel the same way!’ Mixing inspiration from the bands they listened to back in the day with more contemporary music they manage to create a unique fresh sound, distinctly Lost from the Start. The band has won themselves an army of fans on the live circuit and played this year’s Razernij festival. Radio stations worldwide have been championing Lost From The Start with live sessions for Radio Benelux and winning Battle of the Fans on UK station Voice FM’s Punk on the Rocks show. With more music to come and shows on the horizon, you can be sure you’ll be hearing a lot from Lost From The Start in the near future.

Lost From The Start are:

Lucy May Walker

To mark Baby Loss Awareness week this October in the UK, folk/pop singer songwriter Lucy May Walker is releasing the heartbreaking emotive track ‘The Hardest Goodbye’. ‘I wrote this song as a commission for a couple who sadly had numerous experiences of baby loss.’ explains Lucy, ‘It is an extremely delicate and heartfelt song that tells the heartbreaking story of losing a baby. We are working with pregnancy charity ‘Tommy’s’ to promote the song to their baby loss community and help #BreakTheSilence around this taboo subject.’ Sydney and Stevie have a complicated and agonizing history with baby loss. ‘We asked Lucy May to write the song because I was looking for something relatable, a song we could feel a connection to.’ say the couple, ‘We have had 2 stillbirths and 1 miscarriage, each one as painful as the other. The song is incredibly bittersweet for us and we can’t ever repay what Lucy May has given us. She has captured every emotion so perfectly yet so delicately.’ Working in association with Tommys, the aim with this track is to evoke discussion around the largely taboo subject. In the UK, it is estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss during pregnancy or birth. There were 2,638 stillbirths in 2020Estimates suggest there are 250,000 miscarriages every year in the UK, and around 11,000 emergency admissions for ectopic pregnancies. An estimated 500 miscarriages occur EVERY DAY in the UK. Despite these large figures those affected still feel isolated in their grief and unable to talk about it. Baby Loss Awareness Week exists to acknowledge the impact of pregnancy and baby loss. *facts and figures from Tommys.org based on research for 2020.
